Missed the entire first period and the CC!!! A rare occurrence indeed! Anyway I tried to watch it off the cbc website and didn't get a good picture or sound but here it goes anyway.
They talked about all the suspensions and how they are up this year (19 compared to 3 last year). Don says that it is due to lack of respect and he'll talk more on that next week (hopefully I'll remember to tape it).
Zednik got 4 games for the highstick on Markov, Don thinks he should have got 8. They comment on Matt Johnson's punch to Beukeboom's head - Don says 8 at least (turns out he got 12). Don wondered why Matt didn't at least turn Jeff around and then nail him :)
Some good promotional talk on Rose's Home / Place for terminally ill kids. Good to see hockey giving something back to society and Don and his daughter taking lead roles with this, Rose would be proud. Don got pretty emotional on the subject, or so it seemed viewing this via RealPlayer.
They showed some footage (I think, RealPlayer gave up on me) on the Sullivan giveaway and the Thomas give-away in Washington. I usually enjoy Leaf footage but this wasn't great - I've seen it, and from a coaching perspective....well if a kid hasn't learned those cross-ice blue line passes are risky by now then he/she likely won't.
Some stuff on Grimson, apparently he didn't pop a guy when he had him down.
Don promotes Canada: We've won 19 of 25 tournaments over x # of years.
5 out of 10 might be low due to the fact that I didn't see it on TV.
