Memories

Libertine memories of youth
Now, with tenacious
Brainwave synchronicity
We remember.
Five years we have shed
To encapsulate
The intensity of those hours
To lie at the roadside
And, bleary eyed, dream
Lost love, once forbidden
Now, simply, gone
I cannot score you, store you, on my arm
I don't want to keep you
First love turned cold and skeletal
A firmer frame for friendship
You taught me smiles and tears
And later, letting go
I know you think of me
For I think of you too.
