They stood with hands entwined staring at the
night sky.
"Must you go?"
"Yes."
"I'll come with you."
"No, you can't."
"Ask someone."
"They refused."
"Why?"
She sighed and looked deeply into his blue eyes. "You're
not one of us."
"I can be, I'll change, I'll do what ever's
necessary."
"You can't change, not enough."
He started to protest.
She showed him, just a glimpse of her real self.
And he understood.
He held her hand as long as possible before she
transformed into a thousand dancing
particles and vanished into the waiting
ship.
