The Best of Alexander O'Neal

By Maximillian Muhammad

The baddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddessssssssssssssssst singer out of Minneapolis. and in the 80's a serious threat to Luther and Freddie. and oh yes working with two of the most important people in the history of music Jam & Lewis. and a major artist till this day in England. cuts such as the funky "Innocent", "you were meant to be my Lady(Not my girl)", heart felt songs "A broken heart can mend", "If you were here tonight", "Sunshine", "Never knew love like this before with his duet partner Cherrelle(they also did "Saturday Love") "Crying Overtime", and the cunning "Fake". "Criticize" and "All true man" round out this Soul giant. along with Jam & Lewis they created a party atmosphere, times to get thoughts off ones mind. his soul and power recall a cross between Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Sam Cooke, and Bobby Womack to name a few. he never makes a bad record...he just makes you appreciate the soul. It's what music should be about. he can handle all types of music and arrangements. He definitely gives his best on this collection and on other albums as well.
