My Concert Reviews!

This is the place where I'll be writing about the MOIST concerts I go to see. So far I've been to 2.

Concert #2 MOIST w/Holly McNarland at Massey Hall Nov 21, 1997

Well the show started a little after 8pm. Our seats were in the gallery and I had an excellent view of the stage. I knew that MOIST had a lot of female fans, but there were a lot there! Around me I saw only about 6 guys!

Anyways, Holly McNarland came on stage barefoot and in a little skimpy dress with a jacket. I had never seen her in concert, but had heard Numb and Elmo on the radio. She was amazing! The acoustics in Massey Hall were rockin', it was so loud! She sang really loud and the band played really hard. They have so much energy...but not as much as MOIST though of course!*L* I'm not sure but I could of sworn that when Holly stopped to talk to the audience that she said someone in the crowd exposed themself to her. I dunno, I couldn't understand anything from the gallery!?! To my surprise Holly has a huge blue tatoo on her back...I think it was an eagle. That had to have hurt...The band was excellent and I'm glad they had the chance to open for MOIST!

After Holly McNarland there was about a 30 minute intermission. During this time this guy and his friends (in the gallery to the right) provided some entertainment. They got up and danced, the crowd cheered and clapped! Then they started yelling, "Let's go Argos, let's go!" and everyone laughed. Then they preceeded to sing "let's go Blue Jays.."

Finally MOIST appeared on stage at about 9:40pm. The crowd went crazy! They started off with Push and got the audience all hyped up. Of course everyone got up out of their seats. They played a bunch of rockin' songs(well all their songs are rockin'). But I was hoping they'd play See Touch Feel just my luck they didn't. I heard they played it in Calgary though:(

I have a lot of great memories from this show. Well, Kevin talked, yes he actually talked between songs. David was saying how Kevin's had a mic for 5 years and has never used it. So he goes in a very quiet voice "Hello". Everyone cheers. He's so cute!)

Kevin also played the trumpet during Creature, he ROCKED! Jeff played the mandolin and oh ya, Paul sang a song! He actually sang an entire song. It was this really old song from the 70's I think. I can't remember what it's called now...darn.

David had his big water bottles of course and was spitting water on the guys, except Paul of course. We all know why...cuz he knows Paul can kick his ass!

During Disco Days, which is such a beautiful song, Holly McNarland came on and did a duo with David which was cool.

Say MOIST had just finished playing a fast song and started to do a slower one, some people were still standing up, while other people had sat down. Well these guys behind us in the gallery started yelling for people in front of me to sit down, that if they didn't, they would spit on them! Finally the 2 guys realized they were the ones being yelled at and casually sat down in their seats.

Everyone up until Resurrection had behaved, that is stayed in their seats and away from the stage. Anyway as soon as the crowd heard Resurrection, I could see everyone in the seats on the floor stampeded up to the stage! I have never seen anything like it! Girls were grabbing at the band. David kneeled to to them and I saw someone grab his ass! He also threw water in the crowd and they went crazy. He then threw the water bottle in the crowd.

These girls who were a few seats over to my left had this huge sign that read, "CRACK YOUR COCK INTO MY SOCKET" ?!?...

They extended This Shrieking Love and added stuff to it, which was really cool. While Kevin was really gettin' into his keyboard during this song David struts over and starts getting very personal with it!;) Other people have said he was doing the limbo. Whatever it was it was sexy and David looked like he was having a great time! The keyboard went off the stage and the security guards or whoever caught it.

Well that was the show!
