  • April 2000- Mercedes Five and Dime has been released worldwide...if it hasn't been released yet where you live you can order it at www.nettweb.com!

  • Aug 1st, 1999- Well I haven't updated since last summer...so here's a bunch of info taken from MOISTMAIL, some of it's pretty old now:

Mark is working on a book for aspiring bands...don't know when it'll be out... the 1st single off the new album, Breathe will be included in the film "Stir of Echoes" (Sept. 99 release) starring Kevin Bacon and will be included on the Nettwerk soundtrack for the film (Aug 99 release).

Chart magazine also has a few tricks up their sleeves, check out a great feature article (and cover shot...great for autographing!) on Moist in the July edition of Chart. Be sure to look out for the Chart guys at both Edgefest and Toronto Moist appearances. As a great supporter of Chart, The Official Moist Page will also be keeping you up to date on any promotions or contests Chart may be holding (such as the David Usher chat they recently held).

  • Nettwerk Records has also put out some news about upcoming Moist appearances: Nettwerk-managed artists Moist will have an upcoming in-store performance at Tower Records in Toronto broadcast live on the radio station CFNY 102.1 FM - The Edge - on Wednesday, June 30th at 7:30pm (EST). Moist will be performing songs from their latest album, 'Mercedes Five & Dime', at the in-store. The new album is due to hit stores on *Tuesday, June 29th*. 'Breathe' is the first single from the album.

Moist fans in Toronto can also listen to a special one-hour album premiere tomorrow (June 24th) on Edge 102, at 7pm (EST). Several tracks from the album will be played during the program, and will include interview segments with David Usher and Mark Makoway. Should you be a Moist fan outside of the 'Mega-Mel-City', then you can check out a special on-line edition at the Edge 102 web site at: http://www.edge102.com/ Next week will see the band perform live on Musique Plus (MuchMusic's French off-shoot) in Montreal on *Monday, June 28th* at 4pm (EST). You can also see the band performing in Montreal at the downtown Archambault store on *Tuesday, June 29th* at 5pm. Stores such as HMV, Future Shop and Archambault (these three only) will be offering a free value-added CD with the purchase of 'Mercedes Five & Dime', while the first 100,000 people to purchase the new album will be able to make their own Moist Custom Disc. Moist fans will be able to make their own Moist CD once they select rare and exclusive tracks via a card insert. Check those stores for details next week...

  • Next week will also see the beginning of the Edgefest 1999 Tour, which starts July 1st (Canada Day) in Barrie, Ontario at Molson Park and ends two weeks later in Vancouver, British Columbia at Thunderbird Stadium on July 14th. Edgefest 1999 will see Moist touring with such acts as Hole, Edwin, Silverchair, Gob, Matthew Good Band, Rascalz, and more. Be sure to check out the official site for further details at: http://www.edgefest.net/

  • For those of you in the US and UK....release dates are not official yet...US fans might see Mercedes Five and Dime in the new year, but no UK date has been released. But don't fret...you can always order the release from Nettwerk Records and get it way in advance! Check for more info on ordering in the new merchandise section when the Official Moist Page is relaunched.

  • The band will film the first video next weekend which should debut mid-may on muchmusic and musique plus. No word on what song it will be (its still a surprise), but for all of you who have checked out www.moist.ca recently, you'll find the phrase Mercedes Five and Dime....which happens to be the name of the album. No release date has been set as of yet...(came out June 29, 1999)

  • As well, the US fans might have noticed the addition of David Usher's Little Songs album at their favorite record stores. No press tours have been set up at this point, and with edgefest rolling around, it is doubtful that we will see anything soon.

  • Jeff Pearce and the rest of Moist have created their own gateway site on the internet...www.moist.ca is intended to be a page where you can get news straight from the band, and will host a few other features. Right now the band has been working on a studio journal to track their progress on the new album, and we will also see a tour journal when the band starts touring. The Official Moist Page (still at www.cnw.com/~moist) will still be the main source of information on the band, and will re-launch with the new album. You can expect to see a few new features to the site, with lots of band input as well. The reason for the 2nd Moist site (www.moist.ca), is so the band can be more involved in communication, they've set up a new e-mail address, moist@moist.ca which will replace the old bandmail address of moist@cnw.com.

  • The band will also head out to Nashville at the end of march to start mixing the new album, and are scheduled to shoot a video sometime in april. as for a release date.....nothing is set as of yet, and i still haven't gotten a title announcement. but i will keep you all posted.

  • In other news, Forest Fire won a Juno for "best video" this past weekend. so congrats to David for that (Javier as well).

  • Ahh! A BIG congrats goes out to guitarist Mark Makoway!! He got married this past weekend to his longtime girlfriend Nicola.

  • Taken from MOISTMAIL: In current news, the band is still writing and demoing. Word on the release of the new album is tentatively spring/summer 99. As well, the band is going to be hitting some Summersault dates...mostly the East Coast ones..check your local listings for the list of bands playing. The event was set up by OLP's Raine Maida and looks to be a great success.

  • Taken from Andrea's MOISTMAIL: Dave is reportedly working on a book...no info has been given on the nature of it, but expect some more info to surface later on. He will also be heading to Las Vegas to shoot the video for Jesus Was My Girl after a brief holiday.

  • David Usher's solo album has reached gold status in Canada...no date for a US release yet.

  • MOIST are playing Edgefest this year...July 1st Molson Park, Barrie, ON. Click on The Official MOIST Page link above to see more Edgefest dates!

  • Well I got David's solo album and it is absolutely amazing! The songs are really beautiful...the second single off the CD is now on the radio and MuchMusic, "Jesus Was My Girl."

  • David's Solo Album, "Little Songs" is due out March 17th in Canada. The first single, Forest Fire is amazing, of course! The following is taken from "MOISTMAIL," a MOIST mailing list care of Andrea.
