WE were desperate to sell our home. Months earlier our family had been blessed with a new job for my husband. The job was good for him and closer to our family, so we agreed that he would relocate to the job in another state. In the meantime, the children and I would stay where we were until the house sold.
Month after month went by with no offers. I continued to pray not only for a sale but also for strength. Finally, near the end of the school year, our home sold. The timing was perfect. We had been concerned about relocating our children in the middle of the school year, and now they had been able to finish. Over the preceding months I had wanted to rush things along, for everything to happen according to my time schedule. But in the end, everything fell in place in God's time.
During the months our family was separated, I grew more independent and mature, my husband was nurtured by caring friends at our new home, and our children became more cooperative and loving with each other. I still have a hard time being patient, but I know that in God's time it has come more easily, even for me.
PRAYER: God of all goodness, through our daily trials teach us of your
endless love, that we may share your love with others. Help us to appreciate each day you provide for us. Amen.
