STEP ONE Lower the spare tire for access to winch mechanism and frame cross-member. Note that winch mechanism is mounted to the inside of the C-channel frame cross-member. Locate the stamped 5/8” x 7/8” oblong hole in the vertical side of the cross-member located between the left side of the winch mechanism and spare tire support bracket. STEP TWO Place the 3/8” x 1” hex head bolt through the 3/8” center hole in the U-shaped mounting bracket. Attach the bracket to the frame cross- member using the provided locknut and flat washer. Position bracket with the open sides aligned vertically as shown in picture. STEP THREE Install the lock bar through the holes in both legs of the U-bracket with the grooved end facing toward the left side frame rail. Place crimp-ring retainer in groove and crimp closed with pliers.

SPECIAL BLACK MAX INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:(1) Remove the key from the lock cylinder. (2)Place the Black Max lock assembly over the end of the lock bar with the bar cover/seal end up. (3)Slide the lock assembly upward until the bar cover/seal is compressed in the tapered surface of the lug hole. (4)Push in on the "Press To Lock" button with the lock assembly still held firmly against the wheel, to engage the dead bolt lock mechanism with the groove in the lock bar.
