STEP ONE Lower spare tire for access to frame cross-member panel with winch mechanism mounted above. Locate the threaded ends of the two mounting bolts used to attach the winch mechanism to the frame cross-member as shown in picture at left. Position and attach the U-shaped bracket to the threaded end of the mounting bolt using the provided 3/8" locknut and flat washer as shown in picture at right.

STEP THREE Raise the spare tire while guiding the lower end of lock bar through the lug hole least obstructed by the winch cable retaining plate in the center of the wheel. The lock bar must remain vertical as spare tire is returned to the full up/stored position.

STEP FOUR The PVC lock bar cover/seal is designed to center and hold the lock firmly against the tapered surface of the lug hole. Hold lock inverted with the PVC cover/seal end up. Place lock over the end of the lock bar. Slide lock upward against the tapered surface of the lug hole and rotate to engage lock mechanism with the lock bar.
