On Set Secrets

James, Katie, Joshua, and Michelle have become good friends since they started working togeher. They spend a lot of time with each other on and off set. During a taping, they sometimes have to pull all-nighters, and since most everyone else on the set in Wilmington, North Carolina is way older than them, they stick together. They go to the same resturant, sit at the same table, and eat the same things every night. "We even have a tab", explains Michelle. James and Joshua even live together above the resturant. During dinner, the conversation inevitably turns to everyone's love lives. They all admit that James is the most romantic one, he once staged a picnic for his girlfriend on an off-limits rooftop. "We just watched the stars", he remembers. Joshua admits, that even though he played kind of a smooth talker with his character's former love interest Miss. Jacob's (his 36 year English teacher), he himself isn't nearly as smooth. He is a self proclaimed "putz with women", and he jokes,"A good date for me is one where no one cries and no blood's been shed." It's not that he isn't sensitive,"I'd like to be romantic, but I'm generally too oblivious."

Michelle admits that she's not romantically ready "besides," she says,"I wouldn't know where to find the time."

The cast of Dawson's Creek spends so much time together that they've started playing pranks on each other just to keep them from going nuts. Michelle admits that whenever she has to cry on camera, Joshua's off to the side mooning her. "I've seen that boy's butt more times than I care to say." Josh's pranks got so bad that the cast and crew decided to play a prank on him. "We were in a field, finishing the last shot of the day," he recalls. "I said my line and turned to walk away, but no one yelled 'cut'. So I kept walking until I finally turned around and realized everyone had left without me!"

The recent attention towards the show, and the cast is freaking them out. Katie hopes that by jetting back and forth to Toledo, OH and hanging with her buds there, will help her deal. They like to go to coffee houses and rent videos together. "But first we have an argument over what to rent," she explains. "I usually win, 'cause I pout if I don't get what I want." James, is getting ready for the superstar treatment they're inevitably going to get. "But," he says,"I have no idea what to expect."
