This light hearted comedy captures the warmth, spirit and laughs of four women seeking answers to some of life's biggest questions. When Rebecca's (Elizabeth Perkins) family and closest friend arrive on her doorstep, they bring their own baggage and distinctive personalities. There's her controlling ex-stepmother Alberta (Kathleen Turner), her naive younger sister Lucy (Gwyneth Paltrow) and her eccentric best friend Sylvie (Whoopi Goldberg). When Alberta hires a sexy house painter (Jon Bon Jovi) to paint Rebecca's house, each woman discovers that when all is said and done, laughter is the best medecine.
