The Last Day Covers of New-Foundland
31 March 1949
Newfoundland Joined Canada on April 1st 1949.  Canada SC #282 depicts the event. Philatelically speaking NewFoundland became a "Dead Country".
A number of covers with interesting cachets were made. Newfoundland stamps are still legal for use as Canadian Postage.
Some interesting "Philatelic" covers were produced including the one at the bottom, featuring stamps from the 1897 Cabot, 1910 John Guy, 1933 Gilbert and 1947 Cabot issues.

The background is made of the NewFoundland Red Ensign, NewFoundland's Flag at the time.
