Zero Hour - Showdown in O-Town

The day started out just like any other day, for *N Sync. Justin eagerly checked his cell phone's voice mail and returned calls, Joey heated up last night's leftovers - in this case, baked ziti and a slice of New York style pizza (yes at 8:00 a.m.), JC went for a refreshing boat ride on the lake, Chris read the daily financial paper to see how his stocks did the day before, and Lance was taking in the morning eating breakfast (2 cinnamon rolls and a tall glass of chocolate milk) on the outside back patio, with 106.7 FM playing Alice DJ on the radio next to him.

Justin had returned Chris's call about stopping by to check out a new song that Chris had been working on, and told him he would be on his way there in a couple of minutes. Justin playfully warned Chris that he had better not leave any practical joke type notes on his door this time (Chris usually leaves notes on his door saying he is gone fishing, etc, when he knows people are stopping by to see him).

As Justin made his way down I-4 in his brand new, navyblue, super tricked out Ford Expedition SUV, he noticed a dark haired guy following very close behind in what he thought to be a late 70's model black Corvette, in absolutely mint condition. Justin thought to himself that he really liked that car but why was he following so close?

Justin sped up to try to get some distance in between them, but the guy sped right up with him and even followed Justin as he changed lanes......once....twice....three times. Justin sensed trouble was brewing so he picked up his cell phone and pressed the programmed button for Chris's phone number. "Hello?" Chris answered on the second ring. "Hey man, there's some dude following me in a tight Corvette...he's been following me for about 2 miles now." Justin said calmly but with a hint of anxiety. "How do you know he's following you man?" Chris replied. "Hey, he just hit my bumper!" Justin yelled. "What's going on?!" Chris yelled back. At this point Justin decided he had to do something, and threw his cell phone on to the passenger seat next to him, then slammed on the brakes. The mysterious man in the Corvette was now forced to swerve to avoid crashing in to Justin. As he drove around Justin, who was now completely stopped, half way off the road, Justin got a very good look at the man who was playing this very dangerous game with him on I-4. Justin couldn't believe his eyes. It was Kevin Richardson from the Backstreet Boys!

Justin watched in disbelief as Kevin stepped on the gas on drove away like a madman. Justin's intense focus was then interrupted by the shouts of "Justin!" "Justin!" coming from his cell phone, which had wound up on the floor after the sudden stop. Justin quickly reached over and picked up the phone. "I'm still here Chris." "What's going on Justin!?" Chris demanded. Justin took a second to collect himself "We've got some serious business to take care of Chris...I'll fill you in when I get there."

While at Chris's house, Justin called the rest of the guys and filled them in on what had happened earlier. They all decided that it would be best to meet up and decide what action to take. As Joey put it "You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us." JC picked up Joey and Lance, then they raced over to Chris's.

As they all sat by the pool, Joey seemed to be getting the most upset out of the Nsyncers as they talked about what had happened, and seeing that Justin was really pissed off added to his mood. "I think we need take action tonight." Joey said with a look of seriousness that none of the others have ever seen. Lance realized how angry Joey was becoming. "Chill out bro, we gotta keep cool man." Lance said reassuringly. "I guess the Backstreet Boys don't think there's room enough for both of us in Orlando?" JC asked. "It looks that way to me JC." Justin replied. Chris then stood up and started pacing around. It was clear that Chris was thinking of a plan.

The air was thick with tension, and no one said a word as Chris paced back and forth along the side of the pool. You could really tell the wheels in his mind were turning. Chris then walked over to the table that their drinks were on, and took a drink out of his half full glass of Pepsi. He placed the drink back on the table and shouted "I got it!" "What Chris, what?" Justin said excitedly. "You guys remember Tina from Club Energy, right?" They all remembered Tina. Tina was the hot, 5' 5" brown eyed brunette Chris met at the club, and even took out one night a few weeks back.

It turns out that Tina also knew Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys, who had also had taken a liking to her while at the same club one night before she met Chris. Chris remembered Tina talking about how Nick had even given her his personal e-mail address. "Operation Nick Carter is officially under way!" Chris shouted and then bolted towards the house where his computer awaited him, with the rest of the Nsyncers right on his tail.

An hour and a half later, Chris made an announcement "I'm in, I'm in!" They all rushed back into the master bedroom, where Chris had made this excited announcement from. Chris's face was just inches from the computer screen, as he slowly and carefully scrolled downward. "I kind of feel like crap though guys." Chris said and then looked over his left shoulder where JC was standing. "Feel like crap?" Joey snapped. "Think about what Kevin Richardson did to Justin Today!" "Yeah, I know man....it's payback time." Chris replied. Chris had hacked into Tina's hotmail account and was now searching for Nick's e-mail address from her address book!

"I think that's him....that's gotta be his e-mail!" Chris shouted. "You da man Chris!" Justin said as he gave a high five to Joey. "nickc21@yahoo.com has to be him." Lance agreed and looked over at JC. "Okay, now what?" JC asked. "Simple." Chris replied. "Now we just set up an e-mail name that looks like Tina's, send Nick an e-mail, then find out where he and the rest of the Backstreet Boys are gonna be." Tina's e-mail address was sweetnsexytina22@hotmail.com, so the Nsyncers all agreed that sweetsexytina22@hotmail.com would be the best address to use. They just had to hope that Nick wouldn't notice the missing 'n'. Luckily, the e-mail address was available! Now it was time to learn the Backstreet Boys' next move.

Two days later there was a reply to the e-mail...and as expected, it was Nick Carter. "Hey Tina whats up? Good to hear from you! Weve all been hella busy in the studio getting our stuff down for the next video and this weekend me Kevin and AJ were gonna hit some clubs. If your gonna be at Energy Friday night maybe we can hook up. Talk to you later babe. Nick." Chris quickly forwarded the e-mail to the rest of the Nsyncers. It was Tuesday, only three days until zero hour.

Friday night had arrived, 8:30 p.m. Justin threw his best aluminum baseball bat into the back of JC's Nissan Pathfinder. Chris climbed into the front passenger seat wearing a $300 pair of steel tipped boots that would even make the most down home redneck proud. Joey didn't tell anyone what he was bringing, but only commented that it was "a present from Brooklyn." JC climbed into the driver's seat and placed a pair of homemade brass knuckles under his seat. "Everybody ready?" JC asked. "Wait, where's Lance?" Justin said in an excited almost panicky tone."I'm right here guys!" The 'N Syncers couldn't believe what Lance was walking to the car with. Lance was actually bringing his entire golf club set!

"We aren't going golfing, what are you doing?" Chris yelled with a puzzled look. "Oh yes we are...I plan on going par for the course tonight." Lance said with a smile. The rest of the guys all starting laughing hysterically. JC started up the car, Lance climbed into the back with his golfclubs and it was off to Club Energy.

About a half mile from the club Lance yelled out "We've got cops, we've got cops...he's right on us...drive cool JC, don't do anything funny." JC looked down at the spedometer and noticed he was going 52 mph. "Hey, I'm going 52, what's the speed limit on this road?" "I think it's 45 man, slow it up a bit." Joey said while looking back nervously. A few seconds later the cop changed over to the outside lane and sped up past them. "Woo hoo, I think he's got somewhere to go, thank God!" JC said excitedly as he pumped his fist. "Alright, cool...here's our turn, good timing." Justin said with his eyes wide open, then leaned his head out the window as if he couldnt get there fast enough.
