"Whosoever is born of God committeth no sin...he cannot sin because he is born of God."
"As you say these words ["The Lord's Prayer" meditatively and reflectively],
pledge yourself to a surrender to God's Will and to the laws of "Christing"
that will turn you into an instrument of love on earth; pray with all your
heart and mind and soul for the establishment of [His Kingdom] on earth
in every arena, for as Origen says, "Each member of the church must pray
that he may make way for The Father: will intuit the same way that
Christ made for it...For it is possible for one united to Him to become
one spirit with Him...so making way for His Will as it has been perfected
in heaven it may be so perfected on earth". He adds, "Let us ask
that the Will of God be fulfilled on earth as it is in Heaven...so that
we may, so to speak, make earth Heaven, with the result that there will
no longer be any earth, but all will become Heaven. For if the Will
of God is done on earth as it is in Heaven...the earth does not remain
earth...we shall all be "heaven"....this way will initiate you progressively
into one of the central secrets of Christ-consciousness: in Christing
yourself, you come to act as an agent of transformation on earth, a humble
revolutionary of love, an instrument of that Divine Will that hungers and
labors for the establishment of the Kingdom in time".
"To be active on Love's behalf and a tireless agent of God's Love
and Justice, you will need constant supplies of Divine grace and Divine
energy; you will need to root your whole life and being in the Source of
infinite power that is the Father-Mother. In praying "give us this
day our daily bread", know that you are praying not only for the physical
necessities of life but also for a constant infusion of the "Bread" of
Christ-consciousness, of the Christ's passion, truth, energy, power, and
living charity. It is this "daily Bread" of grace that you will need
more than anything if you embrace the challenges and ordeals of following
Christ. As Origen tells us, "The True Bread is He who nourishes the
true man, made in the image of God; and the one who has been nourished
by it will come to be in the living likeness of Him who created him...Daily
bread, that is, bread for "BEING", is what corresponds most closely with
a rational nature and is akin to "Being Itself". It procures health,
vigor, and strength to the soul, and since the Word of God is immortal,
It shares Its own immortality with the one who eats It...just as corporal
bread distributed to the body of the person to be nourished goes into his
being, so the Christ, the Living Bread which came down from Heaven (John
6:51) is distributed to the mind and the soul and gives a share of Its
own power to the person who provides himself food from it".
"If you have really surrendered yourself to the work of love, truly accepted the depths of surrender implied by the words "thy will be done", and in Teresa of Avila's words, "really become ready to suffer everything that His Majesty is pleased to send you", then when you pray "give us today our daily bread" you will pray with your whole being to be fed from the Source that Jesus Himself was fed from so like Jesus you can endure everything that is necessary for a life of active charity with His patience, faith, courage, and boundless stamina. And you will discover daily, as Teresa promises, the "marvels that this Sacred Bread does in us". Through eating this bread, exhaustion will turn to hope; passive desolation will be transmuted into calm and lucid action. By flinging yourself entirely upon the mercy of The Father-Mother and acknowledging your total dependence on the Source for everything you are and do in Its Name, you will find that you will be fed directly by It and in the most direct, transformatory ways; your repeated, humble asking for "Bread" will make you more and more transparent to Its "reception", more and more able to "eat" Its grace in all the contingencies of life."
