" But what made Caesar most openly and mortally hated wasÖ disguised their feelings."

This quote is saying to me, that the people of Rome, when Caesar was in control, they liked him it was just the fact that he was very selfish which made him hated. His passion to be a great ruler was the reason for most of the populations hard feelings toward him. This quote is also saying that many people had hated him for a long time, but they were always afraid to express their feelings until all this came out, about how selfish Caesar was. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back, in reference to the people who disliked Caesar for a long time, and then this just pushed them over the edge. Many people who disliked Caesar and were just afraid to speak up finally had a reason to voice their opinion. This is a lesson that people need to make the choices they need to, but don’t boast or you will have people hating you.
