Synopsis
'Rude Awakening' -- A Synopsis
In 1969, Fred, Hesus, Petra and Sammy were the hippiest of the hip and the best of friends until an over-zealour FBI agent decided to dismantle their free-loving lifestyle. Fred and Hesus took flight, starting a commune in Central America where they could live their lives undisturbed by the problems of the world.
Deep in the jungle, 20 years later, their peace is disrupted when they stumble across a dead CIA agent and uncover plans for an American military invasion. It’s their duty to try and stop it – by going home to tell the world. Fred and Hesus return to New York – but times have changed, and how! Petra and Sammy have put away their love beads and become materialistic money-hungry yuppies. They’ve gone from sun-worshipping to tanning salons; from food co-operatives to penthouse co-ops; from changing the future to buying shares in it. For Fred and Hesus, it’s a stunning, ourrageous, and hilariously unexpected ‘Rude Awakening’ – but perhaps they can still save the world.
Tom is credited as 'Ian' in the film. To my knowledge he doesn't have a great deal of screen time.
