One of the biggest trials of a relationship is separation. I wrote this after being away from Peggy for a year. It was written on a sunday morning when Daylight savings time occurred. I think I borrowed a phrase from Rudyard Kipling, but I can't remember where I read it a million years ago. My apologies rudy.

Daybreak comes much later when you’re waking up alone I reach across to touch you, but you’re far away back home No sun, no leaves, no light, no loving, No-vember’s on it’s way And I miss you babe, much more than I can say I reach across to love you and I taste you everywhere You rise to meet my calling and we fall like silent prayers We’re phantoms of the morning, we’re but shadows of the day And I miss you babe, much more than I can say bridge Maybe it’s the season, or phases of the moon that play across my loneliness in the quiet of my room Don’t ask me for the reason, the answer, where or why My fantasies sustain me ‘til my reverie subsides And I sail on my emotions, the tide goes up and down A sailor on the ocean, in search of friendly ground No compass point to guide me, no light to shine my way And I miss you babe, much more than I can say.
