I remember when I first met Rachel. I was sitting in a stairwell playing my guitar. There's something really neat about the acoustics of these echo chambers. Anyway, she heard me and came in and introduced herself. She mentioned that she had heard a song by Dave Wilcox about singing in stairwells. I was surprised and pleased that she knew who Dave Wilcox was. Music is a wonderful common ground. Over the next few years, we not only shared some music, but she also convinced me to take dance lessons! Hmmm.... but I said okay. It was terrific. A million years from now, we may forget a lot of things, but I think the music will always connect us.

Rachel (1998)
We both know that we won't meet again Even though we promise and pretend There'll be oceans in between us but you'll always be my friend If all we have are memories then please remember when (refrain) We danced the night away You swept me off my feet I caught your soft bouquet the fragrance was much sweeter than this crazy naive notion that it would never end ...remember when Time can fade memories of the past But friends like us, we were meant to last And though we won't remember the words we said today the rhythym of our friendship will not let our memory stray (Refrain) We danced the night away You swept me off my feet I caught your soft bouquet the fragrance was much sweeter than this crazy naive notion that it would never end ...remember when (bridge) Years from now we'll wonder Just how it used to be but the music will remind us Rachel...you and me (Repeat Refrain: fade)
