This classic novel has been adapted for the screen by English playwright Peter Barnes, who was nominated for an Emmy award for his recent adaptation of the TV mini series 'Merlin' in the US.

The TV version is due to be released in time for Christmas of this year both in the US and the UK if agreement can be reached with TNT who are due to show it in the US.

The producer is once again Robert Halmi Snr. who brought the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Moby Dick to the screen last year in which Stewart played the obsessed Captain Ahab.

Stewart received nominations from both award bodies for his portrayal, as did Gregory Peck, who picked up the Golden Globe last week for best supporting actor.

In this film, Patrick Stewart plays the lead role in a thriller revolving around the story of Mace Sowell, a former DIA agent, who is in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, and is convinced that his life is in danger from his former boss who is now a presidential candidate trying to keep his murky past from being uncovered.

A chance for Stewart to show off some of his versatility in a 'non sci-fi' role for a change.

The good news for those who haven't got Sky is that at the Wolf359 convention in London last weekend, Patrick revealed that he is in negotiations with Hallmark, to get the mini series broadcast on UK terrestrial TV either on BBC or ITV.
