Five kids walking home one night decide to take a shortcut through an abandoned construction site. On the way an alien spaceship lands nearbye, and their lives are changed forever. From the spaceship comes a dying Andelite. Prince Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul. He tells them about an alien invasion of parasite slugs who take over human bodies, and who are set on taking over the world. These Yeerks had already taken other planets, and Earth was next. Time growing short before the Yeerks arrived to destroy any evidence of the alien, Prince Elfangor gives them the special power to morph to fight back. When the Yeerk Blade Ship arrives, carrying the leader of the Earth invasion, Visser Three, the kids hide, and watch as the only Andelite-Controller morphs into a horrifying moster and eats Elfangor alive.
