ORANGE NUT BREAD

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 5 tbsp. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp. grated orange peel
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
    Sift dry ingredients, cut in shortening.
    Add the nuts and orange peel.
    Beat the eggs; add milk and orange juice; then combine with dry ingredients; stirring until well mixed, leaving the mixture somewhat lumpy.
    Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes.
