HAM & GLAZES

  • 4-1/2 to 5 lbs fully cooked boneless ham
  • whole cloves,
    If desired One of the glazes suggested below:

    Pineapple Glaze #1

    Combine
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar and
    3/4 cup drained crushed pineapple

    Spread on ham

    Take can of pineapple slices and save liquid.
    Take pineapple slices and place on hour ham, holding them there with your cloves

    In can of liquid pineapple juice, add about 1/2 cup each of brown sugar and syrup

    Mix well and pour over ham ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Brown Sugar Glaze

  • Combine 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar,
  • 2 Tbsp flour,
  • 1/2 tsp dry or prepared mustard,
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon and
  • 3 Tbsp dry sherry, vinegar or water

    Mix well; spread on ham ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Jelly Glaze


    Heat 1 cup apple jelly until melted
    Spread on ham

    Orange Marmalade Glaze


    Spread 1 cup orange marmalade on ham ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Mustard Glaze

  • 1/2 cup French's mustard (any flavor)
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

    Combine ingredients
    Brush mixture on ham frequently during last hour of baking
    Makes 1 cup - enough for a 10-15 lb ham
    May substitute 1/2 cup brown sugar for the marmalade

    Spicey Raisin Sauce

  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 Tbsp margarine or butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

    In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon
    Add remaining ingredients; stir to combine
    Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally
    Boil and stir one minute
    Reduce heat; simmer about 10 minutes to blend flavors
    Pour over ham
    Makes about 1 cup
