Preheat oven to 375°
Line a 15x10 inch jelly roll pan with foil.
Spray wire rack with nonstick cooking spray; place in prepared pan.
Cut bacon in half crosswise; arrange in single layer on prepared wire rack.
Combine sugar, water and red pepper in a small bowl; mix well.
Brush generously over surface of bacon
Bake bacon 20 to 25 minutes or until bacon is very brown, but not burned.
Immediately transfer to serving platter; cool completely
Makes 6 servings
Note: Bacon may be prepared up to 3 days ahead, stored between sheets of waxed paper in resealable plastic food storage bag and refrigerated.
Let stand at room temperature at least 30 minutes before serving
