Emil was the first member of either Guild to become one of my muses. His flamboyant, obnoxious personality jumped out at me right away and he took up residence in my mind almost immediately after I was first introduced to him in the comics. I still don't know exactly what it is about him that endeared me to him so quickly, but he has always had a special place in my heart and always will.
He is a computer expert, although I believe his specialty is more along the lines of hacking into systems, bypassing security and other things along those lines.
He has (literally) flaming red hair, blue eyes and a habit of saying whatever comes to mind without thinking about it first. That habit has a tendency to get him in trouble, especially with the Assassins, but his best friend and cousin Gambit (or one of the other Thieves) is usually on hand to bail him out. Judging from conversations he and Gambit have had in the comics, I'm under the impression both of them have gotten the other into trouble as well as bailed the other out on numerous occasions.
One of the things I like about Emil is his loyalty to Gambit. Even when Gambit was excommunicated from the Guild and was coming back to New Orleans to do something (steal the Elixir of Longevity so he could save Bella Donna's life) he knew his family would not approve of, Emil risked his own life and his position in the Guild to help Gambit and tell him where to go to find the answers he needed.
Because Emil was my first Guild muse, I have the closest connections to him. He is quite literally part of my own personality. I believe he is directly responsible for all the times I put my foot in my mouth, especially at work or in public places. His lighthearted sense of humour and desire to have fun at all costs help me through a great deal of stressful situations (especially at work) and help keep me from taking everything too seriously.
He tends to be the main focal point of a great deal of my stories, because he is the one who inspires me the most. He is continually giving me story ideas, or dropping little hints in my mind in the middle of the night for how to continue stories that aren't finished yet, and I sometimes wake up and have to tell him to shut up and let me sleep.
Because he was the first, he is also the one with the most developed character and background story. If you read any of my stories about him, you'll notice it keeps changing. Emil himself was always giving me a different approach to his background until we got it right the way he wanted it to be. In fact, he has recently given me a new idea for a story about his youth that he and I will work on together over the next while.
His cousin Theoren might call him a fool, and even Gambit admits he's obnoxious, but Emil has always been and will always be my favorite member of the Guilds and he has earned his place at the top of my muse list. Just don't anybody let Gris-Gris near him!
