Southern semifinal
By Mark Hotton

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow morning for this weekend's Super 12 semifinal between the Highlanders and the Crusaders. A capacity crowd of 31,500 is expected to pack Christchurch's Jade Stadium and tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Otago Rugby Football Union chief executive John Hornbrook said tickets would be available from Ticketek offices around New Zealand and would be sold on a "first come, first served" basis. "It would be nice if 10,000 Otago people got terrace tickets," he said. Canterbury Rugby Union chief executive Steve Tew was delighted two of the four semifinalists were from the South Island. Although not one for predictions, the team which took the chances would win, he said. "And a good team will come second." Tickets would not go on sale until tomorrow to give the Canterbury union a chance to make sure everything was right. There would be no tickets set aside specifically for Otago fans but everyone would have an equal chance of securing them, Mr Tew said. Finding accommodation in the city for the match weekend should be an easy task, according to Christchurch Motel Association president Greg Siddells.
