Became the favourite of Carisbrook for his try scoring exploits for Otago in 1998, when he equalled the first division N.P.C try scoring record of 15 tries in a season. Uniquely, he shares the seasons try scoring record of 16 for Otago (P. Cooke) and 13 for South Canterbury (J. Ellery and C. Dorgan).
