Prep work is included in the price. Seams are sanded and ears, nostrils,and hooves are carved. I do not work on horses that are anything but factory painted unless they are first stripped before receiving them. The models are primed before painting, and sealed with a clear matte finish. Customer supplies the body and pays return shipping and insurance is required. I occasionally have extra bodies available for an additional fee. Prices also include basic white markings to your specifications. I do require a 50% Non-refundable deposit before beginning work. The remaining 50% is due upon completion.
Return time for a completed piece is approximately 6-8 weeks, although I may complete it sooner. Prices sometimes vary from the list depending on how extensive the work, for example a dappled horse combined with pinto markings, etc. Resculpting is extra. I no longer do extreme resculpting, such as leg & neck repositioning etc. on custom orders. Models are painted using a combination of airbrushing and hand detailing.
I have no problem with horses being sent to other artists for touch ups or repairs, as long as this information is clearly stated if the model is later sold. If another artist does additional paintwork to the piece, I would appreciate that this information be clearly stated in the sales description that this is a piece painted my me that's been altered or touched-up by the owner or someone else.
