I have an account set up at my local bank specifically for this purpose,
in my name only.  No one else has access to the account.  I will maintain the account, keep the records and info on the children, etceteras.  I will be sending you info on the children, how to write to them, birthdays, or any other info you need or request.
 

I ask that you send a check or money order in my name, Michael Pushard, noting on it that it is for the child sponsorship fund.  I will also provide you with a copy of our statement each month by e-mail, or, any other info you want.
 

How you raise your money is up to you, I am sure you all have great ideas and would share them with each other, if so, I will pass it on.
 

Here are a few of my ideas.  One is cashing in my returnable bottles and cans for those that have returnables, it adds up after a month to several dollars.  Recently, I have asked businesses and individuals to donate theirs.  Another way is throwing my loose change in a jar each day.  Even pennies can add up after a month.  If you have friends that would help, ask them.  I also will fast for 24 or 30 hours and use the money I would have spent on food, it also gives me a perspective on the reason why I am doing it, so a child doesn't have to be hungry.
 

Have a lawn sale.  I also use my music talent.  Another idea is do you wash your car often?  How about saving the money of one car wash?  The idea is to find small things you could do without or can cut down on to raise a few dollars a month.  A thousand people donating only $5.00 a month will sponsor 240 children!

Our children need us more than ever, we have a great challenge ahead, we can only achieve success by working together on a massive scale.

In 1998 we also helped the people of Central America through the Red Cross, gave a donation to the Missing Children web ring to help find lost children.  We have a great beginning, and, as we work together it can blossom into a beautiful flower to be seen from afar.  We have a program I set up  so people can donate in another persons name in honor of a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary.  An example may be seen at Certificate.  I am also offering a service for those of you who have a web page.  I am able to submit web pages to several hundred search engines including all the major ones.  I am offering this service FREE to any of you who are active in our group.

There are many ways you can contribute and it doesn't have to be money.
Promotion is just as important and if you can spread the word to everyone you know, that would be just as valuable to the work.  A new program I have started is our ITEMS PAGE.  It has on it donated items you can purchase.  All proceeds, other than shipping costs, goes to our fund. 
Pass the word.

I have also set-up a postcard site you can access from our fund page. 
On it you can send postcards to your friends. It is a collection we add to regularly, consisting of pictures I have added, and, others from the group.
