Can't
Hardly Wait was a overall good movie, but I didn't like the main plot
about Preston Meyres (Ethan Embry) obsession/love for Amanda Beckett (Jennifer
Love Hewitt). The main plot was weak and I think sort of lame. Ethan Embry's
character, Preston, was so boring and I found my self paying more attention
to what I thought would happen to the other characters. The other part
of the plot, graduating from hischool and having a huge party was a great
choice for a semi plot. The semi plot took away some of the boringness
in the main plot, but not completely.
Even though the down sides of this movie were the main plot and the horrible
acting on the part of the two main characters, Amanda (Hewitt) and Preston
(Embry), there was a huge upside by the break through performances of Seth
Green (Kenny Fisher) and Charlie Korsmo (William Lichter). These two lit
up the screen with humour and excitement. Kenny and his "bathroom" incident
was hilarious.(Click here
for a picture of him in the bathroom.) Charlie just made my laughing non
stop when he began singing "Take me down to the paridise city where the
grass is green and the girls are pretty."
So over all excellent performances by Seth and Charlie as well as Lauren
Ambrose (Denise Fleming). All this wonderful acting took some of the horrible
acting and crapy main plot away.
I rate this movie a 7.5 out of 10, because this movie was exteamly funny
in area, corny in others (Preston), terrible acting for a couple of the
actors, but a great recovery by Seth Green, Charlie Korsmo, and Lauren
Ambrose.
So I would recomend Can't Hardly Wait to any one who loves Seth
Green especially, because Seth is the main hilight of the movie, and who
loves laughs and a great time, but doesn't mind some bad acting(Recovered
as I said before.), and not a great main plot (also recovered).
