Up On In/Oswego/Burning Airlines

01 jan 00...Black Cat Washington DC

Since the world did not end, we decided to head out to the Black Cat to see Burning Airlines. Up On In took the stage first, featuring Zachary, formerly of Jawbox. They had a dynamic, instrumental sound, with Zachary leading the way on most of the songs. They kept it tight and kept me interested throughout their set. Oswego, featuring a member or two from Kerosene 454, played that dissonant sound that everyone likes. I liked these guys a lot, some of their stuff sounded like K454, but most of it was very different.

Burning Airlines took the stage last, and immediately throttled into “Sweet Deals on Surgery”, and then played two new songs, before playing “Carnival”. Unfortunately, I left early (Leigh was tired and we were both hungry), but this was another great performance by Burning Airlines.
