Another fun shindig at the park that is known as Fort Reno. This time around I utilized the oh so handy public transportation system and got my ass off at the Tenleytown stop. Convientally, the rain had stopped a few minutes before I got off the subway, so I got to look at the wetness instead of being the wetness. I met up with my cohort from the previous night and this time she had a friend. 30 Cent Thieves got on a little late due to the wetness, but they managed to paly a full set. They were good, nothing out of the ordinary or different, but I liked them. Just run of the mill noise rock. Next up was Bald Rapunzal, which was comprised of two grrls and two guys. I did not really like them. A lot of thier songs sounded the same and their vocals were drowned out. I really enjoyed the last band, The Most Secret Method. They rocked out nicely. Vocals were traded off between the male guitarist and the female bassist and both were masters of their instruments. The constant thump thump of the bass intermingled with the subversive pummeling of the guitar and the attack of the drums creating a totally unified sound while the lyrics provided a signpost to this sonic mayhem. This is a band not to miss. They will be opening for Bluetip on the 7th of August at the Black Cat, so go!
