As normal with anytime I go into southeast to see a show, I did the normal 60 mph hurtle down 16th street. This night was even tougher than usual because my roomate had to use to the car until 9, so I decided to sacrifice seeing Actionslacks. I arrived at the Black Cat right after the Actionslacks' set to see Burning Airlines setting up. I had seen them play twice before, so I was not expecting a stinker tonight. Of course they played well, best show yet. Their album is going to be the first one that I know all of the words to before it comes out. All in all they lived up to their typical dynamism. They sent two songs out to Braid, played a brand new one, and ended the show full speed with the most rocking version of "Carnival" yet. Braid took the stage without any introductions and proceeded to "rock out". Gosh, they put such a smile onto my face! The only bad part is that I was stuck with the wallflowers again. I think I made a fool of myself dancing to each and every song, but oh well, I had fun. Braid spent the whole night hitting the nail on the head with such a style and panache. When someone yelled for "Divers", the song was executed with such skill and then the last run through of the chorus caused a crowd sing along, too. Great show, this is a band not to be missed live.
