COAST

The Patagonian coast line has enormous gulfs and bays framed by dramatic cliffs extending for miles.

The pristine beaches are miles long and YES! you can swim in the summer.

There are many natural wildlife reserves which protect the numerous species of the coastal fauna. The biggest and most spectacular is the one in Peninsula Valdez in the province of Chubut. picture of a whale There you will find the world famous continental colony of elephant seals and many autochthonous species of birds.

The clear waters of the Golfo Nuevo are home to large numbers of sea whales that come to breed every year.

The city of PUERTO MADRYN is the center of activities in that area.

Millions of penguins can be seen in the colonies of Punta Tombo and Camarones and playful fur seals are found all along the coast.

COMODORO RIVADAVIA at the San Jorge gulf coast is the biggest city in Patagonia and the key to access to other areas in the region.

The city of Viedma in Rio Negro is the door to the Patagonian coast line. From there to Rio Gallegos in the Magellan Strait, the beaches are miles long between towns and cities and all water sports and activities can be enjoyed.

In addition to the places I've already mentioned, be sure to take a look at Puerto Piramides in Golfo Nuevo, Trelew, Rawson and Gaiman in the Chubut river's valley, Puerto Deseado and Puerto San Julian in Santa Cruz.
