I am going to try to make this site a learning experience as well as putting pictures of my garden...Hopefully as my seedlings grow I will be able to put up pictures that will allow you to watch them grow...I'm also hoping it will give some of you the incentive to try your own...The advantage is that you can grow seedlings for plants which are not readily available at local greenhouses. ..It also makes the winter go by much faster....I would advise you to use a soiless mix ,it cuts back on risks of disease and wilt...Personally I use a foam padding which is cheap if you buy carpet under foam and cut it to fit in the trays which have a see through top and little seed pockets inside.This I keep damp rather than water from the top...I also use a bit of a product called NODAMP in the water I use to dampen the soil before planting... When the plants come up I have a little bottle that sprays water and spray the seedlings as I walk by... It also helps if you can afford a little fan to stir the air on the seedlings...This imitates outside and strengthens the seedlings...If you do not have one lightly brush your hands over the seedlings,that works also...
