A good start is to make a compost pile
For this you need the following layers:
First layer can be leaves
Second green clippings
One half cup of lime
One half cup of 10-10-10 fertilizer
Layer of dirt
Just keep repeating as you need it.
Do Not Add meat, bones or meat by products
It helps if you can turn it once a week or so
Note:This is my recipe and not the only one you can use.
Baking soda has always been good for fighting fungus and so is apple cider vinegar.
Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to a gallon of water with a teaspoon of vegetable oil.
Or
3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a gallon of water with 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil.
Sprays are best done in the morning.
For rust:2 tablespoons of baking soda,1 gallon of water,6 tablespoons of vegetable oil and 2 tablespoons of kelp extract.
first spray with copper sulfate(available at nurseries)Leave it set for 4 days or until dry .Then add together 1 gallon of water ,12 tablespoons of canola or safflower oil and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liguid.Spray that on top of the copper sulfate.
2 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid (or murphy's oil) in 1 gallon of water.
Another soap idea is to place a bar of soap in the toe of an old pantyhose Tie it to the handle of you watering can,so the soap can hang inside. swish it around in warm water and for a few seconds, then take out and hang on the side of your can to dry til the next time you need it.
Boil the peel of 2 large(or 4 small)lemons for 10 minutes in 1 quart of water. If your pets are not allergic to lemon it can also be sponged
on them to repel fleas.
2 and a half gallons of water with 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid and 3 teaspoons of ammonia.
put this mixture in a spray bottle and spray every 5 days for 3 weeks.
