Welcome to the Crone's Corner.  This page is dedicated to the Crone's art of herbalism.  Recipes may be either healing or magikal in nature.  However, none of the recipes are to be taken as a prescription or used in the place of proper medical treatment.  If you have a favorite recipe or are looking for one,  email me. _________________________________________________________________
When one goes out camping in the wonderful wilds, one does not often have access to hot water, shampoo, or even running water for that matter.  The following are two corn based remedies that can be used while camping or even if your hair and face need a quick fix with no time for a full blown cleansing.

Camping Shampoo
Taking a handfull of cornstarch, rub it into your hair and scalp and let sit for up to 5 minutes.  How long you let it sit depends on how oily your hair has become.  After letting it sit, simply brush it out vigorously until no more powder falls from your hair.  This can take a few minutes of brushing your hair back and forth.  Voila!  Relatively clean hair.
Face Scrub
Take a handful of corn meal, add water.  Scrub your face with this paste.  If your face has become very oily, let the paste dry on your face.  Avoid the eyes and nose as with any cleanser.  Rinse throughly.  This recipe is also very good for ridding yourself of stubborn blackheads at home where you can use warm water.
