There are times when
the pressures of the "real world" catch us up, and a celebration or circle
comes upon us unaware. What is a good witch to do when s/he has to
bring something for a feast, and is out of time? Try this simple,
delicious and yet healthy treat for a summer feast.
Sinful Strawberry
Delight
One angel food cake (either
made from a box, or store bought if you're really pressed for time)
3 pints fresh strawberries
(you can use frozen if you must, but make sure they are well drained after
thawing)
1 Family pack of Dream
Whip mix prepared (Cool Whip and the like have loads of fat, but can also
be used. You will need 2 containers for a regular sized cake)
Slice angel food cake horizontally
(Hint: use a serated edge knife to slice angel food cake) at least once,
though I prefer 2 cuts to make a 3 layered cake. Prepare topping
according to directions. (Hint: If you are making Dream Whip, make
sure your bowl is squeaky clean and the milk is ice cold) Fold 2
pints stemmed and sliced berries into the topping. Spread topping
between all layers. As you assemble the layers, place some of your
leftover sliced berries between each. "Frost" cake with remainder
of topping. Decorate with more berries. Keep cold until served.
