The work of the world is not done by intellectual geniuses....It is done by men of ordinary capacity who use their abilities in an extraordinary manner
Work expands to fill the time available for its completion
Work is love made visble....If you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you shold leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy
OVER WORKED!
For a couple years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep and too much pressure from my job, but now I found out the real reason I'm tired because I'm overworked!
The population in this country is 237 million 104 million are retired. That leaves 133 million to do the work.
There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work.
Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government, leaving 19 million to do the work.
2.8 million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 16.2 million to do the work.
Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for State and City Governments and that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.
At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals, leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.
Now there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.
That leaves just two people to do the work. You and me.
And you're sitting at your
computer reading jokes
PRISON VS WORK
Just in case you ever got the two mixed up,
this should make things a bit more clear...
IN PRISON... you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell;
AT WORK... you spend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.
IN PRISON... you get three meals a day;
AT WORK... you only get a break for one meal
and you have to pay for it.
IN PRISON... you get time off for good behavior;
AT WORK...you get rewarded for good behavior with more work.
IN PRISON... the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you;
AT WORK... you must carry around a security card
and open all the doors for yourself.
IN PRISON... you can watch TV and play games;
AT WORK... you get fired for watching TV and playing games.
IN PRISON... you get your own toilet;
AT WORK... you have to share
IN PRISON... they allow your family and friends to visit;
AT WORK... you can't even speak to your family.
IN PRISON... all expenses are paid by the tax-payers with no work required;
AT WORK... you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.
IN PRISON... you spend most of your life looking
through bars from inside wanting to get out.
AT WORK... you spend most of your time wanting
to get out and go inside bars.
IN PRISON... there are wardens.
AT WORK...they are called managers.
But cheer up, because
IN PRISON... you have to stay all the time.
AT WORK...you get to go home sometimes.
