Bernie saved new one dollar bills until the new two dollar bills were available a few years ago. As the children became aware of the use of money he would give them a brand new bill and revel as he watched their eyes light up. Many of the children saved these gifts and still talk about them today. The new gold dollar bill was next on his gift list.
