Take The Time
Take the time to show you care,
For I'm sure you have some time to share.
Look around and you will see,
So many people who are lonely.
It takes a second to smile and nod your head,
Without turning your head instead.

Even your own children need you,
To understand when they are blue.
Sometimes we forget the simple things,
That Happiness and Love often brings.
Our children walk the streets at night,
Often searching for drugs and a fight.

We need to show the young and old,
That a warm heart is so much better
than cold
These people are our blood you see,
And they should be important to you and me.
Reach out to a stranger today,
For you would be surprised at what they have say

Invisible Pain
Mental illness is an invisible pain,
For you don't see us cringing or using a cane.
The pain that we feel is not understood,
People say get over it, I wish I could.
For so many years I knew something was wrong,
Now I fight every day to try to stay strong.

We reach out to others to avoid who we are,
For together we share our personal wars.
To wake each day is challenging enough,
But to make it through the day can be very tough.
As we keep to ourselves the pain that we feel,
When even going outside can be quite an ordeal.

The tears that I cry are here every day,
But I know not whats the matter or what to say.
Often bed is the solution to me,
For sometimes I want to sleep for eternity.
Struggling each day to change how I feel,
Has become a reality in order to heal.
