A Poem Without A Title . . .

Challenge for you

Hi!  Your Challenge:    "A poem without a title is like:  you  fill  in  the  blank."

Creative and inspirational responses follow below.

I recently heard an interview with a lovely Aboriginal poet.  She said that names have power and that to name something is to define it.  Naming it helps you know it.  I agree.

It is the same with a poem.   A title affects the concept and reception of the poem.

Imagine a world without titles . . . What would music CDs be like without titles to the songs?  How would radio stations be without song titles (songs=poetry)?  How would you find the artist's work?  How could there be top 30 lists?

What makes a person leave a poem unfinished ? without a title?
Laziness?  Arrogance?  Is it a belief that the work will be so outstanding that a title is unnecessary?
How, then, would the poem be introduced to the rest of the world?

Fill in the blank.

I'll publish your response with your e-mail addresses or URL to your website.

Have fun with it.

Get inspired.
