Pikachu vs. Mewtwo?!

Summary: A fic to bring tears to your eyes. Something happens to Pikachu, and then Mewtwo appears, so the sick Pikachu has to battle for his friends lives. What will happen to Pikachu and his friends?


"Pikachu! Please, Pikachu, don't..." Ash trailed off as his pokemon's eyes closed for good. "No...Pikachu, i...it can't...it didn't..." Ok, maybe I should start at the beginning, and tell you what lead up to this disastrous event. Now, we see our heroes walking down the road once more. "Brock, just how far is Cinnabar Island?" Misty asked, wondering where they were, for there was no ocean anywhere around them. "Who knows?" Brock said, shrugging it off. "DON'T YOU KNOW WHERE WE ARE?!" "Uh, no." "AND WHY NOT?!" "I kinda dropped the map back at the last town." "Why're ya in such a bad mood Misty?" Ash asked, with the Pikachu on his back giving a "Pikapi!" or a "Pikachu!" every now and then. "Well, you would be in a bad mood too Ash Ketchum, if you happened to have been paying attention when we were talking, you'd KNOW THAT WE'RE COMPLETELY LOST IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WITHOUT A MAP!" "Oh." Was all Ash said. "Hey, Misty, is that a bug on-" "WHERE?! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!" "Sorry, just a blade of grass." "Hi-yah! Unluckily for you, Brock, I took Karate in the 1st grade!" "So that...explains it." "Pikapi, Pikachu." "Huh? What it is Pikachu?" Ash saw something rustling in the bushes not far away. "Uh, guys, don't look now, but I think we're being followed." "Huh?" Misty turned from beating up on Brock to where Ash was pointing, accidentally giving Brock time to escape. "Huh? I don't see anything." "But it was right there!" "Ash, you were seeing things." "It sure looked like something was there..." "Well, there's not, and we've gotta find some place where we can get directions." "Why?" "SO WE DON'T HAVE TO SPEND THE NIGHT IN THESE WOODS MUCH MORE!" "Oh." "Well, we should get going then." "Don't think you're going anywhere, kid." "Huh?" "PREPARE FOR TROUBLE!" "MAKE IT DOUBLE!" "Not again. Doesn't Team Rocket ever give up?" "DON'T INTERRUPT THE MOTTO!" "Ahem. To protect the world from devastation!" "To unite all peoples within our nation!" "To denounce the evils of truth and love!" "To extend our reach to the stars above!" "JESSIE!" "JAMES!" "Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!" "Surrender now or prepare to fight!" "Meowth that's right!" "Hand over the Pikachu." "Never! Pikachu, thundershock!" "Pika! Pi...ka...chu..." "What's the matter, Pikachu?" "Pikapi, pikachu pika..." [I don't feel so good...] "Ash, quick, call out your other pokemon!" "Brock's right, Ash. Pikachu obviously isn't up to battling." "But Pikachu was fine until just a few minutes ago." "That doesn't matter right now Ash! What matters is that we keep Team Rocket from getting Pikachu!" "Right. Go, Squirtle!" "Go, Arbok!" "It's time to go, Wheezing!" "Squirtle squirt!" "Squirtle, water gun attack now!" "Squirtle! Squirrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttttlllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeee" "Arbok, glare attack now!" "Wheezing, sludge attack." "Wow, Brock, Team Rocket's actually doing better!" "Yes, they have been practicing." "Quick Arbok, while it's Paralyzed! Wrap it!" "Squirtle, return!" "Squirtle." Squirtle said, shaking it's head. "Huh?" Ash wondered, as Squirtle started to glow and change shape. "Wartortle!" "Great, Wartortle! Now, Bite it!" "War tortle. ::::Chomp::::!" "Chaaaaaaaaaarbok!" Cried the giant cobra, whom Wartortle had sunk it's teeth into. "Charbok!" It cried, and ran-actually,slithered-back to Jessie in a big hurry. "Arbok, what are you doing!?" "Charbok!" It cried, and went in it's pokeball and refused to come back out. "Arbok, you get back out here!" A muffled "Charbok!"[No!] Came from the pokeball. "Well, you've gotta get out here and fight!" "Charbok CharBOK!" [I will NOT!] "Fine! James, it looks like it's up to you-wait a minute! There's someone here that'll do..." Jessie said, getting a sneaky grin on her face and looking at Meowth. "MEOWTH! You can't make me!" "Wanna bet?" Jessie asked, her largest mallet in her hands." "Ok Jessie, I'll do it! Just don't-" ::::Whack::: Meowth was sent flying strait into Wartortle. " I've been wanting to try that one for so long." Jessie said happily. "Wheezing, Poison gas attack now!" "Wheezing!" Wartortle was hit head on, but was unaffected. "Wartortle, same thing!" "Wartortle!" It cried, and bit wheezing. However, this gave Wheezing an opportunity. "Wheezing, tackle it now!" "Wheezing!" It protested, and likewise spent the rest of the day in his pokeball. "Jessie, what do I do? I can't send out Victreebell, it tries to eat my head!" "Well, James, I guess you'll just have to sit and watch from the sidelines." "Well, both of ya will, 'cause I ain't takin' no ordas from ya. I orda myself.OW!MEOWTH!" You see, while Meowth was talking, Wartortle had snuck up on him and bit him, knocking Meowth unconscious. "Now Wartortle, get Team Rocket outa here!" "War." It acnolidged, and soon a powerful stream of water sent Team Rocket flying. "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiin!" They shouted as the dissapeared from view, becoming a tiny sparkle. "Great job Wartortle! Return!" Wartortle yawned as it went back in the pokeball, thoroughly exhausted from it's battle. "Mewtwo..." "Huh? Did you say something Pikachu?" "Pi...:::kA:::." [No...::::Moan::::] "Mewtwo..." "All right Misty you can stop playing tricks! I'm not scared." "Um, Ash, that wasn't me..." "It...wasn't?" "MewTWO!" The thing cried, leaping into sight. "T....that must be it..." "I...think you're right." Misty said, cowering behind Brock, who looked like he wanted to hide himself. Mewtwo is a scary looking Pokèmon. "Ash look out!" "Huh? YIKES!" Ash barely dodged a huge beam. "W...what is that thing?" Ash asked, pulling out his pokedex. "Mewtwo. This Pokèmon is extremely rare and extremely dangerous. It is very strong and pokemon masters are the only ones that are experienced enough to catch it. This Pokèmon prefers to go for the trainer. Proceed?" "N...no. I think we've heard enough, don't you guys?" "Uh-huh!" "All right, Bulbasaur go!" "Ash what are you doing?" "I'm gonna capture it! With this pokemon, I'll be a pokemon master, and beat Gary once and for all!" "Uh, Ash, while you're making your pretty speech, Bulbasaur is out there getting hurt!" "Wha?" Ash turned around and he saw Bulbasaur with his eyes spirals, fainted. "Oh nuts. Bulbasaur return! Go, Pidgeotto!" "Pidgeo!" "Pidgeotto Sand attack! Blind it so it can't see!" "Pidgeo eo eo eo eo eo eo eo eo eo!" "MewTWO! I'll get you for that, you shrimp!" "Huh?" "IT CAN TALK?" "Suprised?" It said, with an elegant british accent. "Well now, I see you are shocked at my ability to speak english. My accent quite hides my personality, now doesn't it? Well my friends, I am sorry to do this, actually, I'm not, but, say, Goodbye!" The three were knocked nearly unconscious. Barely conscious, they decided to send out all of their pokemon. "Staryu, Starmie, Horsea, Goldeen, go!" "Geodude, Onix, Zubat, Vulpix go!" "Wartortle, Charizard go!" (Pidgeotto is still out, and remember, Bulbasaur's out cold.) "Ah, this will take care of them." And Mewtwo fired a Psychic beam. They all fainted. "Now what do we do, Ash?" "D...don't ask me." Mewtwo prepared to fire another blast when... "PIKACHU!" Mewtwo was hit by 1000 volts of electricity. You see, Pikachu had staggered in from somewhere in the bushes, and had disrupted Mewtwo's attack. "What?" Mewtwo was heavily damaged, but was still fighting strong. "Well now, electric mouse, I can see you want to fight." "Pika!" [Well, YES!] "You look weak already. It shouldn't take much to finish you off. "Pikachu." [That's what you think.] "Pikachu!" Ash whispered, his eyes half closed. "It's up to you now buddy. Do what you did when the Spearows came, when Team Rocket came, against Raichu, during battles, to wake me up. Pikachu, hit Mewtwo with all of the electricity and speed you've got!"Ash then fell unconscious."Pikachu, Pikapi!" [Got it, Ash!] "Ah, how very touching, but let's get back to the battle.I believeI was about to faint you?" "Pika, kachu." [Yeah, right.] "Take this!" And Mewtwo psybeamed Pikachu. "Pi...ka...CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!" "Aah!" Mewtwo was hit by 1,000,000 volts of electricity this time. Pikachu was greatly weakend by the attack, but so was Mewtwo. "Pi...ka...chu...cha" [Got...to...catch...it.] Pikachu staggered to it's feet, and went over to Ash, pulling out an Ultra ball, which Ash had saved for so long, it flung it at Mewtwo, drawing him inside. The ball wriggled 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20 times before a "Ping!" sounded. Mewtwo was caught. "Pi…kachu. Pikachu kachu." [I…did it. I beat Mewtwo.] So saying Pikachu collapsed on the ground, tired out from it's attack. Soon Ash woke up, to see only a pokeball on the ground, and Pikachu lying there, eyes bearly open. "Pikachu, are you ok, buddy?" Pikachu made no response, but pointed in the direction of some bushes. "Pikachu, a…are you all right?" "Pi..ka...chu….pikapi…pikachu…pi…cha…kachu…pi" [You're…my…best friend Ash and you allways will be…remember…that…allways.] Ash could see that Pikachu was fading away. Pikachu, stop talking like that. You'll be all right." Ash said, though he could see the Pikachu wouldn't be. "Pika…Pikapi." [Goodbye…Ash.] "G..goodbye, Pikachu." Pikachu smiled, and began to sing. Ash started to sing too.

I close my eyes,

and I can see,

 the day we met,

just one moment and I knew;

You're my best friend, do anything, for you.

Right by my side,

through thick and thin,

it's like we've always been

together!

And I just know

"Pika…" Pikachu started to close it's eyes. "Pikachu! Please, Pikachu, don't..." Ash trailed off as his pokemon's eyes closed for good. "No...Pikachu, i...it can't...it didn't..." "G…goodbye…Pikachu." Misty woke up right after he said that. "Hey Ash, is Pikachu…" Misty trailed off as she saw Ash set Pikachu gently on the ground, his eyes filled with tears. Misty's eyes filled with tears too. Pikachu had been a close friend to them all, especially Ash and Misty. Before Ash could see her, Misty quickly wiped the tears out of her eyes. "Look on the bright side, Ash. You caught Mewtwo." "So what? If a pokemon causts me Pikachu, it's not worth capture." With that, Ash kicked the ball out of site. Misty had gotten up in the meantime, and had walked over to some bushes that were wriggling. One look and she gasped. "Ash, you should come see this." "What?" Ash asked, but he went over there anyway. There, in the bushes, were three newborn Pikachu. One of them, (It's eyes were all ready open) looked at Ash with a glimmer of love in its little eyes. Ash picked it up and hugged it close. "Think, Ash, each one of these little Pikachu has a tiny bit of your old Pikachu in them." "They're nice, but not as good as my Pikachu was. No other Pikachu or pokemon can ever take her place." "I know Ash, I know." Misty and Ash sat there playing with the baby Pikachu until Brock woke up. "Hey guys, were's Pikachu?" Ash looked at Brock with tears in his eyes. "Oh." Brock said. Ash hadn't needed to say a word. Misty tried to turn the subject to something a little less sad. "Guys, there are three Pikachu here. Why don't we each get one, so that way none of us will have the job of taking care of all of them, and we all get a new pokemon?" "Sure Misty." Ash said. "I'll take this one." And he picked up the one that had fallen in love with him at first site. "This'll be a nice Pokemon, but it'll never replace my Pikachu." "I know how you feel, Ash." Misty said, quietly. "What do you mean, Misty?" "I had a pokemon too. It wasn't a Pikachu, it was a Jigglypuff. I…it died in a battle against Lorelei of the Elite 4. It was frozen solid. Lorelei apoligised, but it didn't bring Jigglypuff back." "Ash, Pikachu died to save us. If she hadn't of done that, we would have all ended up like Pikachu did." Brock said, to explain why. "Huh?" Ash didn't get it. (Gee, how dense can one person be?) "Ash, Pikachu was willing to die for our lives. That's not loyalty, that's love." "Yeah, but I still miss her." "Ash, we all miss Pikachu." "Huh?" "Pikachu was a friend to all of us. She helped take care of Togepi (Who, by the way, had slept through the entire thing in a pokeball.) and she allways went willingly into battle." "STOP IT! Pikachu's dead. She'll never come back, no matter how much we talk about her!" And Ash ran off. Brock started to go after him, but Misty stopped him. "I'll go talk to him, you watch the babies." "Pikachu, why? Why did you have to die? I cared-no, care so much about you, and you had to die. Why?" "Wait up Ash!" "Leave me alone." "No, Ash, I won't leave you alone." "Just go away Misty." "Ash, I know you hurt, but let me talk to you." "Well, what is it?" "Ash, feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to bring Pikachu back, and besides, what would Pikachu think if she saw you like this?" "I..I don't know." "Yes you do, Ash. You know what Pikachu would say. She'd say: 'Why are you acting like this, Ash? I want you to be happy, like we used to be, and I want my babies to grow up knowing you as I did.' Ash, don't you see? Pikachu would want you to be happy, and…that's what I want too." "Actually, she'd say Pikapika pikapi and things like that." Then, suddenly the words Misty had just said resounded in his head "Huh? Misty, what are you talking about?" "Ash, I care about you. A lot. More than just as a friend. And it hurts me to see you like this, because there's nothing I can do. You have to do it yourself, Ash." "I know. And Misty, I…" "Yes?" "I…care about you more than a friend too. But why didn't you tell me before now?" "I just couldn't bring myself to. It took Pikachu's extreme courage and her death to make me finally say it. Now, come on Ash. Pikachu wouldn't want you around here moping. She'd want you back on your journey to be a pokemon master." "You're right." As Misty helped ash to his feet, she saw something Peeking from its perch on his head. ":::Giggle::: Ash, if I were you I'd feel along the top of your hat." "Huh?" Ash grinned as her felt fur. Lifting the little Pikachu off, he quickly hugged it. "You know Misty, this Pikachu is more like my old Pikachu tan I thought one could be." "I know what you mean, Ash." Just then, Brock came running up, a Pikachu in each hand. (That's how small they were) "Guys! One of the Pikachu's missing! It rean away and-" "Hey Brock, is this who you're looking for?" Ash said, and held up the little Pikachu. "Yeah Ash, it is." "Guys, there's something I have to do alone, ok?" And Ash walked off. He went to where he had kicked Mewtwo's pokeball. "Mewtwo, I'm sending you to Proffesor Oak with a warning and the story. After that, he sent another message telling Prof.Oak not to let Mewtwo out of it's ball, except to eat, as punishment. With that, Ash went back to the others. After a final goodbye to their friend, they continued on their journey. "Come on guys, we've got to get to Cinnabar for the 7th badge!" Ash shouted gleefully, once again, a small Pikachu racing after him. "Pi ka, Pikapi!" [Wait up, Ash!] Misty and Brock followed behind, their Pikachu's racing alongside.
