The Del-Emmas are an all-girl garage band from Sydney who can actually play their instruments and who thankfully don’t try and scream every note. Barhop, which is the band’s first release, contains 5 melodic 60’s styled garage tracks, including their covers of What A Way To Die and the Beatles rip-off I’ll Let You Hold My Hand. However, their originals are even better, especially Git That Man and Cheetah Man, which have an authentic garage sound thanks to the addition of some cheesy organ. Barhop is an impressive little record, which despite the basic production, has a likeable charm that is hard to resist.
