Perth band, Deb, play unashamed power pop; not unlike The Summer Suns, The Someloves and DM3. Lead singer Craig Weighell has a knack for writing uplifting songs with catchy choruses that get stuck in your head. If you don’t find yourself singing along to songs like Through Your Eyes, I’m On To Something and The First Step then in IMHO you can’t call yourself a lover of power pop. It’s songs like these that got me excited about this type of music in the first place. Unfortunately, the recording on Things We Used To Do is pretty rough and as a result sounds more like a demo than an actual release. However, nothing can hide the fact that Deb are a great little pop band who can already lay claim to have already written more than their fair share of classic songs.
