Hellride are yet another kick-arse punk rock band to come out of Scandinavia, much in the tradition of fellow countrymen and labelmates Gluecifier. Troublemaker is their debut release and is packed full of over-the-top killer rifferama. Unfortunately, however, their songwriting is not as strong, meaning that for every good song like Highway Demon there is an equally disappointing song like Get Down. Subsequently Troublemaker doesn’t match the heights set by other White Jazz bands, like The Hellacopters and Gluecifier although it does contain more than enough evidence to prove that Hellride are more than mere imitators (although lead singer Pete Evil does come across as bit of a try-hard).
