I’m Drained was the Early Hours first release and deservedly won the band the Kalgoorlie-Boulder leg of Triple J’s Unearthed competition. I’m Drained is a great fuzz-tinged garage/power pop song while the two songs on the flip side, Hard Feelings and The Girl I Haven’t Met, have even more of a sixties garage sound. Despite the limited and raw production, the Early Hours still show that they have a great understanding of catchy pop.
