Instinct b/w Through A Keyhole - The Naked Eye
Label: | While Elephant Records |
Released: | 2000 |
Rating: | 3.5/5 |
The Naked Eye are a relatively new Melbourne band who have just released their debut 7 inch, Instinct b/w Through A Keyhole, which despite the limited production, is impressive both in its scope and execution. The lead track is a great slice of distinctly Australian melodic punk rock that, not surprisingly, has a lot of people comparing them to The Eastern Dark. The flipside, Through A Keyhole, has a heavier, darker feel not unlike a cross between Blue Cheer and The New Christs. All in all, a solid first up effort and I look forward to hearing their debut album, which should be released later this year.
