Into The Sun represents the debut album from Victorian power-popsters P76 and after two well-received EPs, they really have exceeded all expectations (again!) Although there are a few surprises, like the brooding Golden Days or the acoustic My Sunshine, on-the-whole this is glorious power pop as bright as the sun to which this album seems devoted. Think You Am I, Teenage Fanclub and DM3, whose main-man Dom Mariani is responsible for the excellent production and if my ears don’t deceive me I’m sure I can hear traces of his distinctive guitar playing on several tracks. Honestly, if you’re a fan of Australian guitar pop and you should be rushing out to buy this album.
