Overseas the Chevelles are recognised as one of Australia’s premier power pop bands although they have been largely forgotten at home. Their latest release is a four track self-titled EP that contains three tracks from their now deleted second album Rollerball Candy as well as the B-side Out Of My Mind. To my ears the Chevelles have always sounded best when they have turned the guitars up and rocked out in true power pop style. Thankfully, the four songs included here all do just that and are in my opinion some of the best songs that the Chevelles have ever committed to vinyl. Great stuff.
