The Quitters are a New York garage/frat band who don’t appear to take themselves too seriously. Their aptly titled second album sounds like it was recorded live with minimal overdubs and judging by the photographs was recorded in their friend’s loungeroom. However, despite the basic recording, there is certain charm to The Quitters that many similar bands lack. Their lead singer, Dan, can actually sing while the band have their fair share of catchy songs. Whilst a bit more editorial control should have been applied (23 songs is way too many), The Quitters’ Second Album is an enjoyable listen. Hopefully for their next release, the band will spend a bit more money and record an album that highlights their true potential.
